List of Digital Economy Act Accredited Processing Environments

Digital Economy Act Accredited Processing Environments are accredited for the purposes of processing data, whether that processing be concerned principally with the linkage or de-identification of data, or the storage and provision of secure access to de-identified data.

Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency Research Support Unit is accredited for the preparation and provision of data under Chapter 5 of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act.

The accreditation of the NISRA Research Support Unit began on 24 May 2019 and will expire on 31 May 2024. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

Office for National Statistics is accredited for the preparation and provision of data under Chapter 5 of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act.

The accreditation of Office for National Statistics began on 12 August 2019 and will expire on 31 July 2024. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

ONS Secure Research Service is accredited for the provision of data under Chapter 5 of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act.

The accreditation of ONS Secure Research Service began on 12 August 2019 and will expire on 31 July 2024. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

Submit a research project application via the Office for National Statistics Secure Research Service

The Integrated Data Service (IDS) has been accredited for the provision of data under the Digital Economy Act 2017 on 14th September 2023 which will expire on 31st September 2028.

The IDS has been assessed as Capable for Data Security and Capable for Data Capability.

The IDS’s next accreditation review date for Data security and capability is September 2024.

Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL)  Databank has been accredited for the preparation and provision of data under the Digital Economy Act 2017 on 30 January 2020 which will expire on 31 January 2025.

SAIL has been assessed as Capable for Data Security and Capable for Data Capability.

SAIL’s next accreditation review date for Data security and capability is September 2024.

UK Secure eResearch Platform is accredited for the provision of data under Chapter 5 of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act.

The accreditation of UKSeRP began on 30 January 2020 and will expire on 31 January 2025. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

UKSeRP works in partnership with the SAIL Databank. Submit a research project application via the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage Databank

The accreditation of NISRA Census Office began on 14 February 2020 and will expire on 28 February 2025. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

UK Data Archive (UKDA) has been accredited for the provision of data under the Digital Economy Act 2017 on 16th March 2020 which will expire on 31st  March 2025.

UKDA has been assessed as Capable for Data Security and Capable for Data Capability.

UKDA’s next accreditation review date for Data security and capability is June 2024.

UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration (UK LLC) has been accredited for the preparation and provision of data under the Digital Economy Act 2017 on 17th March 2023 which will expire on 17th March 2028.

The UK LLC has been assessed as Capable for Data Security and Capable for Data Capability.

The UK LLC’s next accreditation review date for Data security and capability is March 2024.

Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre is accredited for the provision of data under Chapter 5 of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act.

The accreditation of Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre began on 16 March 2020 and will expire on 31 March 2025. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

The electronic Data Research and Innovation Service is accredited for the preparation and provision of data under Chapter 5 of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act.

The accreditation of eDRIS began on 7 December 2020 and will expire on 31 December 2025. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

National Records of Scotland is accredited for the preparation of data under Chapter 5 of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act.

The accreditation of NRS began on 28 October 2021 and will expire on 31 October 2026. Accreditation during this period is subject to a series of annual reviews.

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) has been accredited for the preparation of data under the Digital Economy Act 2017 on 9 February 2022 which will expire on 31 February 2027.

DHCW has been assessed as Capable for Data Security and Capable for Data Capability.

DHCW’s  next accreditation review date for Data security and capability is September 2024.
