The Cabinet Office has announced that Professor Denise Lievesley CBE will conduct the review of the UK Statistics Authority (including the Office for National Statistics and Office for Statistics Regulation) that it announced some time ago that it would be commissioning as part of its Public Bodies Reviews programme.

Speaking today, Sir Robert Chote, Chair of the UK Statistics Authority, said:

“I am delighted that the Cabinet Office has chosen Professor Lievesley to conduct our review. As a former President of the Royal Statistical Society and Director of Statistics of UNESCO, she will bring both great expertise and international perspective to the task. We look forward to engaging with her and hearing her conclusions, which I have no doubt will help us to deliver on our mission of delivering statistics for the public good.”
