This is the ninth Annual Report of the UK Statistics Authority since it was established on 1 April 2008 by the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007.
The UK Statistics Authority published the independent review of Methodology within ONS led by Dr Andrew Garrett on 29 September 2016. The full report is available via the links on the right-hand side of this page. The National Statistician, along with the Deputy National Statistician for Data Capability, will now carefully consider the recommendations.
The National Statistician commissioned this independent review in March 2016, in order to ensure that Methodology in ONS met user needs and was prepared for changing demands. The terms of reference for the review are available as an annex to the main report.
