1. Introduction

This is the sixth annual report from the Advisory Panels on Consumer Prices (APCP) to the National Statistician, the principal adviser on official statistics to the UK Statistics Authority.  Historic annual reports are published on the UK Statistics Authority website.

During 2021 and 2022, the technical panel and the stakeholder panel each met eight times (quarterly) to discuss issues important to the ongoing progress of consumer price statistics in the UK, including one joint meeting in October 2022.

This report contains a summary of discussions held by the panels in 2021 and 2022 and the resulting outcomes.
