Papers previously submitted to Methodological Assurance Review Panel

The MARP has previously considered 24 papers on methodological proposals which contribute to the evidence base underpinning the proposals outlined in the consultation. The majority of papers covered the development of methods for administrative-based population estimates (ABPE) and the statistical population dataset (SPD).

These include a paper detailing methods for producing multivariate population statistics using administrative and survey sources, a paper outlining estimation options for a statistical population dataset, and discussion around bias and variance quality standards for future population estimates.

A focus on quality for population statistics was also examined, quality assuring planned trajectory of research.

A full list of papers, and minutes of meetings, considered by the MARP is available at the Authority website. Annex 1 contains a list with links to each of the relevant papers to the Future of Population and Migration Statistics (FPMS) recommendation.
