Date of occurrence of breach | 25 Feb 2021 |
The publication was scheduled for automated release at 9.30am by a member of The Executive Office (TEO) press office. A hosting platform issue with scheduled content publishing caused the scheduled release to go live 3 minutes late (9.33am).
There has been little to no impact to users. Programme for Government (PfG) Analytics branch contacted press office at 9.32am to report the issue. The website delay was resolved at 9.33am. The delay was approximately 3 minutes.
As soon as the Information Officer was notified of the delay, they immediately investigated the issue, PfG Analytics liaised with TEO press office and Enterprise Shared Services (ESS), who are responsible for uploading scheduled web content, to review steps to mitigate against reoccurrence.
An “Incident” was raised with IT who have confirmed that a fix has been rolled out. ESS have performed a test upload and have confirmed that the fix has been successfully applied.
PfG Analytics routinely check that all official statistics publications are available on the website at 9.30am on their scheduled release date and will continue to do so. This ensures that any publication issues are spotted and can be addressed quickly, minimising any impact on users.
